Interview on Dubai Eye 103.8 FM: The Significance of a Rare Mediterranean White Shark Sighting

Following the BBC’s coverage of a rare white shark sighting in the Mediterranean, I was invited to join The Agenda on Dubai Eye 103.8 FM to discuss the value of this observation.

During the interview, we explored why Mediterranean white shark sightings are so uncommon, what recent scientific research is revealing about the population, and the major conservation challenges facing the species. We also discussed the importance of long-term monitoring, collaboration with local fishing communities, and the scientific efforts underway to better understand and protect the Mediterranean’s remaining white sharks.
